Program Overview

From Global Commitments to Enterprise Impact

The global biodiversity agenda has evolved rapidly, with frameworks such as the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the Nagoya Protocol setting ambitious targets. However, implementation gaps remain—particularly in translating policy commitments into operational value chains, compliant enterprises, and inclusive economic systems.

The Biotrade Professional Development Programme has been designed to address this gap. It provides structured, accredited learning for practitioners seeking to operationalise biodiversity commitments through enterprise development, governance systems, and ethical market participation.

The programme consists of five individually accredited courses:

International Biodiversity Commitments in Action: From Global Frameworks to National Implementation

Applied Biodiversity Frameworks for Sustainable Value Chains and Enterprise Development

Participants may enrol in individual courses or complete the full programme pathway.

Upon completion, participants will gain:
  • Practical tools to operationalise biodiversity frameworks
  • Applied knowledge in biotrade enterprise development
  • Governance and compliance competence
  • Skills to strengthen inclusive and ethical value chains
